Thanks for dropping by the YWAM Europe regional office. Can we take you on a tour?
We are located about 100 kms east of Amsterdam, midway between Zwolle and Apeldoorn, surrounded by green pastureland, woods and spring-fed streams.
If you ever are in our neighbourhood, simply take the A50 motorway to exit 28 (Heerde-zuid). Right opposite restaurant De Keet and McDonald's(!) is the Zwarteweg. Centrum 's Heerenhof, where the YWAM Europe office is located,is a large brick building at number 10, 700 metres from the main road.
Heidebeek is another 500 metres down the road and around the corner. Centrum 's Heerenhof used to be part of the broader Heidebeek community, until after restructuring it became a separate operating location. Under the leadership of Jeff and Romkje Fountain, Centrum 's Heerenhof is a framework for minstries engaged in the 3-R's: Renewal in the church, Re-evangelisation in the land, and Reform in society.
Centrum 's Heerenhof (which means 'court of the Lord') is a former laundry, set in a 5-acre wooded property which YWAM purchased in 1979 and converted into a multi-purpose ministry centre. Each Sunday evening activities take place in the auditorium, such as celebrations, Bible studies, youth events,film evenings and concerts. Downstairs is the main auditorium, a seminar lounge, a small conference room, Romkje's office and a kitchen. Upstairs under the A-shaped roof are the offices of YWAM Europe.Who are we?
If you call the YWAM Europe office, you are likely to get Jelly van der Wal on the line. Jelly is the office manager, and has spent years on board the Anastasis in the Operating Room and later managed the Mercy Ships office in Rotterdam. Now she also assists Jeff in various tasks, involving YWAM Europe, Hope for Europe and local events in Centrum 's Heerenhof.
When Jeff is not travelling, this is where he is likely to be in his book-strewn office, writing, planning or answering email. Jeff and Romkje live in the house right opposite Centrum 's Heerenhof.
From her downstairs office, Romkje works on her various roles as chairperson of the YWAM Holland board, committee member for other YWAM-related bodies, and helping to coordinate the Hope for Europe Women in Leadership network.
